After high school Jeremy was asked to play for the Dubois County Dragons, (Frontier League) under coach R.C. Lichtenstein. (now a coach within the Tampa Bay Rays organization) Fortunately, after further consideration and great advice Jeremy decided it would be best to further his education and play baseball in college. While at the University of Dubuque, coach Newman set an NCAA record for turning the most double plays in one game (6). He was named All conference of the IIAC, along with All Regional his last season as a Spartan.
Coach Newman has coached for many years at all levels and age groups but takes pride in instructing solid fundamentals and fostering the growth of the young players of today and tomorrow. Whether it be coaching at the collegiate level as an assistant, coaching at a high school as a head coach or coaching our youth the one thing you will find is that he truly puts his heart and soul into each program.
If you can’t find him on the field coaching or in the classroom teaching, you can find him hanging out with his wife Rachel and son Easton.
